Turns out that half of all the sewage sludge generated in the United States ends up in agriculture and home gardens. It’s processed into compost and that’s used to grow our food.
Meanwhile, tons of perfectly good and uncontaminated residential and commercial organic material is trashed daily, ending up in landfills.
That’s why I’m looking into making my own compost. If you have experience, please give me a holler.
