Forget Chinese labor – the new threat to American workers comes from corporate outsourcing of labor to prisons, here in the good ‘ole USA.

“[Corporations, who use prison labor], qualify for federal tax breaks. They can get compensated up to 40% of the wages they pay to these inmates. We as American taxpayers have to house, feed and provide medical care and everything for all of these inmates. We do this as taxpayers. it comes out the tax pool. And that keeps the actual work force healthy and in shape to go out and perform these jobs for these private companies.”

Corporations that have already cashed in on prison labor, here in the US include Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Victoria’s Secret, and many others.

Looks like Americans have been asleep on their laurels long enough for private corporations to clean house.
