The Myth about Money and Motivation

 

People all over the world think money motivates people to “work” and innovate. They go even further and insist that without money, nothing would get done and there would be no investment or innovation. But while money might motivate action to a very limited degree. Beyond that threshold, many other factors are far more important.

This brilliant and entertaining animation, adapted from Dan Pink’s talk at the RSA, illustrates the hidden truths behind what really motivates us at home and in the workplace.

It takes us beyond the facially appealing but narrow, self-interested view that money is what best motivates us.
